Transcript: First accreditation for the Middle States Association
Description: Mr. C.O. Williams discusses CCCC's first accreditation for the Middle States Association.
Interviewer:
What was the importance of the Middle States Accreditation to the College?
Mr. C.O. Williams:
It is important to any college because it is through accreditation that a new college becomes a member of an association that is a kind of stamp of approval. Its credits are then pretty generally recognized as acceptable among colleges everywhere. It is an important step in the coming into being of a new institution.
Interviewer:
How long did it take the accreditation process in Charles County?
Mr. C.O. Williams:
Roughly 10 years, but it doesn't need to take that long. It probably required that amount of time here because of the changing nature of the location of the College.
