Do your facilities offer babysitting services?
The CSM Wellness and Aquatics facilities do not have the resources available to provide child-care services at this time.

Are the Fitness Center Services included in my membership (i.e., body compositions, metabolic testing, and full fitness assessments)?
Fitness Center Services are offered at an additional charge, however monthly wellness drawings are included in your membership and you will have the opportunity to win these services for free.

Does my complimentary Group Fitness Pass include aquatic classes?
Due to the popularity of aquatic exercise classes, the group fitness pass includes only land-based fitness classes, provided space is available.

Is there an age limit for group fitness classes?
Participants must be 16 years of age to take group fitness classes unless otherwise specified in the class description.

Does the facility offer towel service?
The facility is not equipped with a washer/dryer and does not offer towel service at this time. We recommend you bring one with you for your personal use.

What do I need to use the pool or fitness center?
A valid CSM Credit Student ID card or CSM issued fitness or pool membership card with photo ID is needed to enter the pool or fitness center. All participants must shower before entering the pool.

Are pool and fitness center memberships exclusive to each campus?
Yes, Community members may purchase a campus specific membership for La Plata, Leonardtown or Price Frederick. Community memberships are exclusive to the campus for which they are purchased. CSM credit students may use the wellness facilities on any Campus

Who can use the pool?
Any CSM credit student with a valid CSM ID may use the pool. Community members may also use the pool by purchasing a pool membership.

How old does my child need to be to use the pool?
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult family member listed on the family membership at all times while using the pool.

Can I bring my baby into the pool?
Yes, we recommend consulting with your pediatrician before bringing infants under 6 months old into the pool. If your child is not potty trained, a swim diaper must be worn underneath your child's bathing suit. Be aware that swim diapers are not a replacement for frequent diaper changing. The CDC recommends that you change your child often and make frequent trips to the toilet (every 30-60 minutes) while swimming.

I plan on getting a Leonardtown pool membership. When can I use the therapy pool?
The therapy pool will be open for use during Open swim and lap swim times as listed on the pool schedule. Any additional Therapy pool hours will be posted.

Who can use the therapy pool? LEONARDTOWN CAMPUS ONLY
Therapy Pool is restricted to adults (18 years of age and older) and participants of special CSM programs that utilize the therapy pool.

Is there a lifeguard on duty?
An American Red Cross certified lifeguard will provide patron surveillance at all times during open pool hours and classes. All CSM lifeguards are certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED for the professional rescuer.

How is the water chemistry maintained?
A Certified Pool Operator (CPO) will be on site during all pool operating hours to maintain water chemistry in accordance with all Federal, State and Local health department regulations.

Why are there limited hours for Open Swim and Lap Swim?
Open and lap swim hours are limited because of academic classes and swim team practices which vary each semester.

Does the facility have an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)?
Yes, In compliance with safety regulations, the facility is equipped with an AED. In addition, all lifeguards and fitness center staff are certified to provide CPR and use an AED.

Do I have to pay both tuition and fees to use the facilities?
Yes, as a public higher education institution, CSM embraces a holistic, educational approach to wellness and fitness and therefore its students and individuals must pay both tuition and fees.

What about the cost for senior citizens or disabled retirees?
If you are a Maryland resident, 60 years of age or older or retired and disabled as defined by the Social Security or Railroad Retirement Act, you need not pay the course tuition for most courses, if the course has sufficient enrollment to be conducted. However, you are responsible for all other related costs.
