Orientation and Registration

Step 1 - Online Orientation Session

Click here to log into your myCSMD account to access the Online Orientation

Once you have applied and been accepted to CSM, you can view our Online Orientation session at any time from the comfort of your own home.  By viewing our Online Orientation session, you'll learn how to:

  • Navigate through Online Services using your myCSMD account
  • Utilize CSM's online catalog to view the required courses for your program
  • Register for courses using your myCSMD account
  • Discover CSM services and resources that are available to you as a student

To access the Online Orientation and Registration session, log into your myCSMD account and click New Student Orientation on the right side of the page.  

If you are having trouble logging into your myCSMD account please contact the Help Desk with your student ID number at 301-934-7740.  If you have not received a student ID number or do not know your number, please contact the Call Center at 301-934-7765 (option 9).

Step 2 - Class Registration

After you have completed our Online Online Orientation session, you will have access to our online registration system through myCSMD and you will be able to sign yourself up for your courses.

If you have viewed our Online Orientation session and still have questions regarding the class registration process, you can click here for assistance with registering for classes through your myCSMD account.  You can also attend an on-campus Advising and Registration Session.

On-Campus Advising and Registration Session

When you attend an Advising and Registration session on one of our campuses, you'll be able to:

  • Interact with peers and fellow students
  • Meet face-to-face with an academic advisor
  • Register for your classes
  • Learn how to use CSM's online registration system

 Reservations are required; see information below on how to reserve a seat

How to Reserve Your Seat

Before reserving your seat, be sure you have completed the following steps to enrollment:

  1. Apply to CSM
  2. Complete the FAFSA or have payment arrangements made
  3. Complete the CSM Placement Test  or have SAT/ACT scores on file
    - OR- have submitted official transcripts for evaluation of any previous college credits
  4. Complete the Online Orientation session.

Important Information about Registration and Payment

At the time of registration you will be required to make payment arrangements in order to prevent being dropped from your courses. Payment options are as follows:

  • Pay 20% down (if registering prior to final payment due date) 
  • Full payment
  • Enroll in the FACTS payment plan  
  • Submit tuition assistance paperwork to the Bursarís Office
  • Have sufficient approved and processed financial assistance already in place
    (The CSM college code is 002064; it may take 4 weeks or more to process your request. If you have not completed a FAFSA form yet, you will need to make alternate payment arrangements and be reimbursed if/when you receive FAFSA funds)
