Faculty Spotlight

Bob Gates For CSM Professor and Industrial Studies area coordinator Bob Gates, teaching at CSM is like coming home. That’s because Gates took classes at CSM and has fond memories of his own CSM professors.

“While attending Capitol College, I took many classes at CSM,” said Gates. “There were many great instructors at CSM; each individual had something that contributed to my growth.”

After 12 years teaching at CSM and contributing to others’ educations, Gates says, “My passion is teaching. I was an instructor in the United States Navy and I love working with students.”

Gates’ daughter is enrolled in the nursing program, making CSM even more like home. “We are family at CSM,” he said. “Faculty, staff and students are one family with a common goal in mind. When it comes down to it, the faculty and staff care for our students. We care about their growth, their career choices and paths that they take to get them there.”
