About CSM.TXT

CSM.TXT is CSM's alert service provided through e2Campus™. This service will send you instant alerts and time-sensitive messages, including up-to-date information on emergencies and campus closings.

You can also elect to sign up for Registration and Enrollment notifications, Tuition deadlines, and Student Life information.

Messages can be sent to your cell phone via text message, or to your e-mail account.

Registration is free. All cell phone text message fees will apply. Contact your service provider for more information.

How to Register

IMPORTANT: The College of Southern Maryland disclaims any responsibility and liability for the deletion, failure to store, miss-delivery, or untimely delivery of any information or material through this service. CSM does not warrant the successful delivery of each message to each individual recipient or device. CSM does not charge any fee for this service. Carriers and services used by recipients may charge periodic or per message fees. Such charges are the sole responsibility of the recipients.

FAQs

What is CSM.TXT?

CSM.TXT is a way to receive emergency notifications and other news with your cell phone via text messages. You can also get messages via e-mail. The service is completely voluntary and you may select to receive specific categories of information.

Do I have to sign up for CSM.TXT?

No, you do not. You can still access emergency information via the Closing Hotline (301-369-1999 or toll free 1-800-650-4023) or via the CSM Web site at www.csmd.edu/emergency.

Does CSM.TXT cost me anything?

It is free to register for CSM.TXT. All cell phone text message fees will apply. Contact your service provider for more information.

Who can sign up?

Anyone can sign up to receive CSM.TXT messages including, students, parents, faculty, staff, spouses, and others.

Will I be getting spam after I sign up?

CSM will only send information that you request to receive. If you only want to receive emergency information about campus operations (such as closings, delays, internet interruptions or other similar types of incidents), please do not select any other types of messages.

What if my number, my service provider, or my e-mail changes?

Please let us know of any changes to your phone number, service provider or e-mail address by logging into your account with e2Campus and changing your contact information.

Can I change which groups of information I sign up for?

You may change your subscription to groups at any time by logging into your account with e2Campus and changing your subscription.

How do I stop receiving text messages on my cell phone?

To stop receiving messages, login to your account with e2Campus and remove your cell phone from your contact information.
