A bookkeeper records the day-to-day financial transactions of an organization. The bookkeeper is responsible for ensuring all transactions are recorded in the appropriate journals, ledgers and for bringing the books to the trial balance stage. An accountant prepares the Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flow using the trial balance and ledgers prepared by the bookkeeper.
This program prepares you to compute, classify, and record numerical data to create financial records. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to create primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.
Complete this program and be prepared for opportunities as a bookkeeper, accounting clerk, accounting assistant, accounts payable clerk, or accounting associate.
