Driver Education

The Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) requires this course for those wishing to obtain a Maryland Driver's License.

The MVA requires that the student attend an orientation accompanied by a parent or mentor. This orientation will be 3-hours and acquaint students with the schools requirements and components of the Maryland's Graduated Driver Licensing Law. Thirty hours of Classroom instruction will include discussion of space management, basic maneuvering, reducing risks, and personal factors influencing operator performance and collision avoidance. Six hours of individual student driving will be scheduled at the orientation.

Did you know that Southern Maryland has the highest young driver crash rate in Maryland?

CSM is committed to providing young drivers training to decrease the teen crash and death rate in Southern Maryland. CSM has developed two partnerships:  The New Driver Control Clinic Inc and the Chesapeake Regional Safety Council to offer students two separate approaches to become a safer driver. Two classes are offered to support safe driving.

Alive at 25:  Behavior Modification focuses on behavior modifications for participants to adopt safer driving practices and make better decisions.

Driver Improvement Program

The Driver Improvement Program (DIP) is required by Maryland law for individuals that have a suspended or revoked driver's license. Get More Information on our Driver Improvement Program here.
