Early Childhood Education Continuing Education Courses
CSM is an approved continuing education and training agency
and offers a variety of courses and two training conferences per year to help
child care providers meet their state requirements. Early Childhood Training
Conferences offer child care professionals that ability to register for the day
or for a couple of short courses. Choose the training that meets your particular
needs. Parents are also welcome to register-many of the courses offer valuable
information. Topics are offered in the following knowledge areas:
Adult/Infant/Child CPR, Child Development, Basic First Aid, Curriculum
Development, Behavior Management, Communication, Health, Safety and Nutrition,
and Special Needs.

Requirements
The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and the Office of Child Care (OCC) have implemented changes to both pre-service and continued training requirements for family childcare providers and center staff in the State of Maryland. Effective July 1, 2008 the following is a summary of new training requirements.
