In this class, students make predictions of chemical and
physical properties of elements and compounds using experimental
techniques. Solution chemistry is taught to demonstrate the different
properties of liquids. Students learn to predict the products and rates
of reactions, and use the principles of the ideal gas law to predict the
behavior of gases. This class is designed for students between the ages
of 11 to 15 who have taken either Basic Chemistry (AAY-6040) through the
college or an equivalent chemistry course.
