Tima McGuthry Banks
Ms. Banks received a MS in Chemical Engineering from Howard University and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park. Ms. Banks, adjunct faculty at the College of Southern Maryland, possesses over 12 years of experience teaching introductory, general and advanced placement chemistry to high school and college students.
Doug Zabel
Back by popular demand! Dr. Zabel earned a Ph.D. and M.S. in Organic Chemistry from Iowa State University and a BS in Chemistry from the University of Michigan. Dr. Zabel, faculty member at the College of Southern Maryland, possesses over 33 years of laboratory science teaching experience including the popular home school laboratory science course. Finally, Dr. Zabel has presented many science workshops with hands-on activities to elementary and middle school children in recent years.
I received my bachelors degree in mathematics from Indiana
University, my master's in instructional technology from Towson, and a
post graduate certificate in Distance Learning from UMUC. I have been
doing the kid's college since 2000 (game design, web design, robotics).
I teach full time in the math department and usually teach college
algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and statistics. Some of these are
taught online. I am actively involved in getting more girls into math
and science. This includes the Women and Math program I have been
working on for the last 3 years.
Angela Dion is a successful author, motivational speaker and professional writing coach. Angela has sold more than 100 articles, authored three books and collaborated with dozens of writers in her ten year writing career. She has been teaching writing courses for a year at CSM. Angela has a BA in psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and is a certified adolescent addictions counselor. She lives in Waldorf with her husband and their teen son. www.angeladion.net
