Distance Learning
Web-hybrid (Blended) Courses
Online Learning at the College of Southern Maryland
Web-hybrid (Blended) courses blend on-campus instruction with web-based instruction. Students meet on campus according to the published schedule of classes then complete approximately half of the course instruction and/or activities online. Web-hybrid courses create flexible learning options while allowing students to meet face-to-face with instructors and other students.
Students must attend the on-campus meetings and may need to complete required online assignments prior to the first classroom meeting. To be successful in a web-hybrid course, students need to complete both classroom and online assignments. Web-hybrid courses provide the best of both “worlds.” Students have an opportunity to meet with students and instructors on campus while having the flexibility to complete some of the required activities online.
