New Loan Process for Fall 2010

  • The Direct Loan Information Session at the Prince Frederick Campus scheduled on Thursday, September 2, has been canceled. 
  • The Direct Loan Information Sessions at the La Plata Campus scheduled on Thursday, September 9, have been canceled.

At the College of Southern Maryland, our Financial Assistance Department staff members are here to help meet your educational goal. Our mission is to offer you the information and services to make college affordable for you. Our office is located at the La Plata Campus in the Administration Building, Room 110. Our regular office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can reach us by telephone at 301-934-7531, or send us an e-mail at fadasst@csmd.edu.

The process of applying for aid can seem complicated and time consuming, and we want to make it go as smoothly as possible for you. When you call us, our technicians will answer your questions. Our site includes an overview of the aid programs offered at the college and how to apply. Financial aid policies may change because of federal regulation or college decision; therefore, some information at this site may change.

We look forward to helping you meet your educational goals and helping you realize your potential.

If you or your family may not be able to pay for your educational costs, you are encouraged to apply for financial assistance.   To do so, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

 

Important Dates

Jan. 1

 

Earliest date FAFSA forms become available.  Apply online at  www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Mar. 1

Priority deadline for submitting the FAFSA to be considered for financial assistance during the academic year (Fall, Spring, Summer). 


November 1 for Fall,
April 1 for Spring and
April 15 for Summer

 

If you wish to apply for a Federal Direct or Federal PLUS loan, your loan application, entrance interview, master promissory note, and all other required applications/documents (e.g  FAFSA results, verification documents, etc.) must be received and completed in the Financial Assistance Department
