During this trip to the United Kingdom, students will experience the largest Arts Festival in Europe during the amazing Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Students will explore one of Europe’s most magnificent cities in Edinburgh, travel by bicycle for four days across the north of England from sea to sea, visit Stirling Castle in Scotland, which is the basis of the film Braveheart, and also check out the University of Sunderland’s Media Centre and other Media and Arts groups, along with a close-up tour of the National Glass Centre in Sunderland where some of the world’s most beautiful pieces of glass are blown.
Students will use smartphone technology to document their travels and experiences, and then package their audio, video, and photos into a mini-documentary.
The cost to each student is $3,700. All students must obtain a valid U.S. passport prior to departure (estimated time to obtain a passport is 8 weeks). The trip is limited to 15 students, accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Sign up early to reserve your place! **This cost may increase or decrease pending the costs of airfare and room & board. Payments to vendors, airlines, travel agents, hotels, etc. may be non-refundable.

The CSM Travel Studies Scholarship Application is now available. This scholarship will allow students to be awarded $475 toward their travel costs and will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please apply early!
Applicant must be registered for at least 9 credits during the semester or immediately preceding the travel studies course for which the award is intended. Applicant must demonstrate financial need, as determined by the CSM Financial Assistance Department. Applicant must possess a 3.0 cumulative grade point average at the time of application.
Should you be awarded this scholarship, you are required to provide a follow up essay and / or video report based on your experiences in the travel studies program.
In order to register for travel study courses, students must complete the following application. Once applications are received, students will be contacted with more details and will be placed in the program on a first-come, first-serve bases until all spaces are filled. Payments will be placed on students CSM accounts, allowing many payment options to be utilized. Once the fee is placed on the account, it is non-refundable. Students will then be given further instructions on how to register for their course(s).
