CompTIA A+® certification substantiates skills required by today's computer support professionals. Successful completion of this certification serves as a benchmark for entry level IT careers. CompTIA A+® certification confirms a technician's ability to perform tasks such as installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking.

CompTIA A+® Certification Exam Information
The updated version of the CompTIA A+® certification exam provides two additional specialty areas: Remote Support Technician and Depot Technician.
Exam/Exam Number:
- A+ Essentials/220-601 - This exam must be taken in conjunction with one of the following:
- 220-602 - IT Technician
- 220-603 - Remote Support Technician
- 220-604 - Depot Technician
- A+ IT Technician/220-602 - This exam must be taken in conjunction with 220-601.
- A+ Remote Support Technician/220-603 - This exam must be taken in conjunction with 220-601.
- A+ Depot Technician/220-604 - This exam must be taken in conjunction with 220-601.
Number of Questions:
- 220-601 A+ Essentials = 100
- 220-602 IT Technician = 90
- 220-603 Remote Support Technician = 90
- 220-604 Depot Technician = 90
Exam Format:
- All exams are linear format; computer-based tests (CBT)
Exam Time:
- All exams are 90 minutes
Passing Scores:
- 220-601 A+ Essentials = 675
- 220-602 IT Technician = 700
- 220-603 Remote Support Technician = 700
- 220-604 Depot Technician = 700

Test at CSM
The CSM Testing Center offers the A+ exams.
The Testing Center at the CSM La Plata Campus is the only Pearson VUE authorized test center in Southern Maryland.
