CISSP® certification is an internationally accepted ANSI/ISO-accredited credential in the field of information security. It is an internationally accepted certification for accessing the knowledge of security professionals and is ideal for mid- and senior-level managers.
The CISSP® certification meets the requirements in the DoD 8570.01-M directive for government employees and contract worker training.
The CISSP® certification is designed for professionals already working in the security field and are having or aspiring for management positions. It is designed to evaluate a comprehension of the 10 CBK® Domains as listed below:
- Access Control
- Application Security
- Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning
- Cryptography
- Information Security and Risk Management
- Legal, Regulations, Compliance and Investigations
- Operations Security
- Physical (Environmental) Security
- Security Architecture and Design
- Telecommunications and Network Security

CISSP Exam
Disclaimer: The CISSP exam has prerequisites on industry experience to be eligible to sit for the exam. Please examine them at the ISC2 site https://www.isc2.org/cgi-bin/content.cgi?category=1186 or contact ISC2 for clarifications. In 2003, ISC2 introduced an associate program that permits people without the years of experience to sit for the exam and upon receipt of a satisfactory score receive associate status until the experience is gained.
Number of Questions: 250 Multiple Choice questions with four choices each. There may be scenarios associated with more than one question.
Question Format: Proctored Paper exam not electronic. (Must use a No. 2 pencil).
Exam time: 6 hours (Sample format of time)
- 8:00 a.m. - Doors open
- 8:30 a.m. Instruction begins
- 9:00 a.m. Exams begin
- 3:00 p.m. CISSP exam ends (There are no lunch breaks; however, students may bring snacks.)
Dress is business casual - neat and comfortable.
Exam Fee:
- $499 (Early registration- Received 16 days before exam date)
- $599 (Standard registration- Received less than 16 days before exam date)
