Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) Certification Preparation Classes

The classes CSM offers to prepare you for the certification exam.

MCSA certification ensures the skills to successfully manage and troubleshoot system environments running on the Microsoft Windows operating system. The entry-level MCSA certification track can be the first-step towards achieving a MCSE certification.

MCSA: Security Track
The MCSA Security Track is designed to support professionals in or working toward a career in network security. Students may elect to pursue a security track and will be required to take one additional class and exam.

Timeline

The timeline is the approximate amount of time that a student will require to complete the training series.

  • 15 months

Programs begin in March at the La Plata campus and in September at the Leonardtown campus.

Recommended Courses

Series available as credit courses or as continuing education courses.

Not all classes are needed - only five should be taken. Requirements differ between the basic certification and the security track. Also, several elective choices are available. To determine which classes should be taken, see the lists of core exams and elective requirements under the exam information below.

MCSA on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Exam

To achieve the MCSA: Security certification a candidate must successfully complete and pass three core exams and one security exam.

Pearson VUE Authorized Test CenterThe CSM Testing Center offers the MCSA exams.

The Testing Center at the CSM La Plata Campus is the only Pearson VUE authorized test center in Southern Maryland.
