Books: The library contains approximately
50,000 volumes.
Reference Books: The library has about 2,000 reference volumes
covering many subject areas. The law collection includes codes, cases,
regulations, and encyclopedias for both the U.S. and Maryland. All reference materials are for use in the library only.
Periodicals: The Library
holds upwards of 3,000 periodicals in a combination of print, database, and
microfilm formats. We have several print and online periodical indexes. Periodicals do not circulate outside of the library.
Audio-visual Material: The library
holds over 5,000 audiovisual items, including videotapes, audio-tapes, slides,
and CD-ROMs. These items circulate only to instructors but may be used in the
library by others.
Computer Resources: The library has over 60 computer workstations
which offer access to the Internet, Microsoft Office programs, and CSM course
software. From
these computers, customers can access our periodical databases and other resources.
Miscellaneous Resources:
The library maintains a collection of popular paperback books and a growing collection of
audiobooks. A copier is located in the microfilm room
for student use.
Southern Maryland Studies Center: The SMSC is a research center of materials dealing with the history and culture of Southern Maryland (Charles,
St. Mary's, and Calvert Counties). The SMSC holds about 3,000 books and periodicals as
well as document collections.
