The Southern Maryland Studies Center is located within the Library (LR Building) at the College of Southern Maryland's main campus in La Plata, Maryland, Room LR 211.
The Reading Room of the Southern Maryland Studies Center has the same hours of operation as the College of Southern Maryland Library. Our archival collections are available during the hours of 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday
In order to access materials contained in the Archives, all first-time visitors will be required to read the Regulations Regarding Use of Materials and to fill out a Customer Registration Form. By signing the Customer Registration Form, you are agreeing to abide by the Regulations Regarding Use of Materials. To expedite your research process, you are welcome to fill this form out in advance and bring it with you to the Studies Center.
No appointment is necessary to access collection material. Visitors are encouraged to call ahead if they plan to use archival collections or if they are traveling a distance. If you would like research assistance or help identifying relevant materials, please feel free to contact us!
