CSM Foundation’s 15^th Annual Golf Classic
Raises $62,000 To Support CSM Student Athletes

 

The College of Southern Maryland Foundation’s 15^th Annual Golf Classic raised $62,000 and had a full field of 144 participants Aug. 24 at Swan Point Yacht and Country Club, Issue.

The tournament’s proceeds will support CSM’s Athletic programs, specifically helping with uniform replacement, major equipment purchases, scholarships and travel funds for the student athletes.

Tournament winners include the first-place team sponsored by Primary Residential Mortgage of Eric Grainger, David Ashton, Warren Teets and Derek Johnson. Second-place team sponsored by Community Bank of Tri-County was Greg Cockerham, Jim Dimisa, Joseph O’Neill and Gordon O’Neill III. The third-place team sponsored by Mirant was Reggie Brown, Tommy Buckler, Darol Buck and Walter Johnson.

Since 2002, Marrick Homes has been the Tournament Sponsor and was joined this year by corporate sponsors Applied Ordnance Technology, Inc., Chaney Enterprises, Community Bank of Tri-County, and Show Place Arena.

In its 15 years, this annual event has provided more than $400,000 for various projects and programs at the college.
