General Login Information

If this is the first time you've taken an online course, please visit the college's Online Learning Web Site.  You will find specific information on online learning, including "Tips for Success," online orientations, student online resources and other information that can help you succeed in online learning.

Are you prepared to take online courses at CSM? SmarterMeasure is a survey that helps you determine your level of readiness for online learning. You will be asked questions on topics, such as "how well you can use a computer," "how motivated, organized, and self-directed you are," and "how you prefer to learn new information." You will also be able to measure your on-screen reading speed and comprehension. We encourage you to take a few minutes and complete the SmarterMeasure survey.

 Logging Into Your Online Course

Welcome to online learning at CSM.  You will use myCSMD to access to online services where you will log into any online course you are taking at CSM.

• Go to http://my.csmd.edu (see Figure 1) to log into your Blackboard course(s).  Your ID number must be seven digits. If your Student ID number appears to have less than seven digits, add additional zeros to the beginning of your ID when entering your Password for the first time. For example: Student ID 123456, would need to enter 0123456.

• To access your online classes, look toward the center of the page under myOnline Classes (see Figure 2). There you will see a link under myOnline Classes titled, "Login for Blackboard Courses." Click that link to display a list of your courses.

• After logging in to Blackboard, your course(s) will appear in the Course List (see Figure 4). You will have access to your courses on the start date of the course section. Click on the course name to access the course.

• Once you click on the course, the Course Content Home page will appear. The Course Content Home page is the home page for a course/course section. This is the location where you will have access to the course content and be able to communicate with your instructor and other students in your class.
