    Too many students find they have wasted time and effort on a course that will not transfer to their transfer university. Don’t make the same mistake!

    University of Maryland University College is offering Maryland Community College Transfer Scholarships. Recipients may be awarded $3,300/year for full-time study or $1,650/year for part-time study. The deadline for application is June 1, 2008. Learn more at www.umuc.edu/ccsp.

    The University System of Maryland will award five full-time Regents Scholarships, one part-time Regents Scholarship and 4 partial scholarships to exceptional Maryland Community College transfer students.  All completed applications must be submitted to each campus Advising Office no later than Wednesday, April 30 in order to be nominated by the CSM's president.  Criterias for the scholarships can be found at http://www.usmd.edu/Institutions/FinAid/RegentsScholars/.  Applications and more information, can be obtained by contact an academic advisor.

    Villa Julie College will hold an Instant Admissions Decision and Scholarship Day on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from 10:30-2:00 p.m. in the LR Lobby (LaPlata Campus).  Students are encouraged to bring an unofficial or official transcript and receive an admissions and scholarship decision immediately.  All application fees will be waived at this event.  For more information, please contact Carol Fanshaw, VJC Transfer Admissions at (410) 486-7001 or adm-carf@mail.vjc.edu or James Spence, CSM coordinator of transfer evaluation and articulation at (301) 934-7574 or jamess@csmd.edu.

    Towson University is now accepting applications from CSM students who already have or who will  be receiving an AAT in Elementary Education at the end of the spring 2008 semester and wish to pursue a B.S. in Elementary Education.  The new cohort will begin classes in the summer of 2008 and graduate spring 2010.  To apply or to receive more information on the program, please contact Jim Cowan at (301) 643-4218 or jcowan@towson.edu.

    Maryland Transfer Advantage Program (MTAP). Last spring, the College of Southern Maryland joined forces with the University of Maryland, College Park to guarantee the transfer of students to the university. The Maryland Transfer Advantage Program guarantees University of Maryland admission to qualifying community college students who complete the program requirements. These students will also be eligible for early access to Maryland advisors and other resources, including tuition discounts, to put them on track to a bachelor's degree from the start.
