At the College of Southern Maryland, students can choose from more than 100 quality academic programs including an expanding array of associate degrees, certificates, or letters of recognition. We are constantly expanding and improving our programs to meet the demands of the workplace.
CSM also offers you the credits you need at a fraction of the cost. That means you’ll have more money to transfer to the university of your choice. In fact, the number one reason students come to CSM is to transfer their credits. Last year alone, CSM transferred students to universities in 41 states, including Harvard, University of North Carolina, and Penn State.
CSM offers a rich academic experience with knowledgeable faculty members who care about you. At CSM, learning extends beyond the classroom. You’ll be given invaluable opportunities to experience hands-on, community-based service learning, to travel and study abroad, to intern with local businesses, and much more. The General Studies program differs from its options in the distribution of electives. Students may select, for concentration, either the General Studies program or any of the program options, such as Communication, Criminal Justice, English, Environmental Management, Forensic Studies, Media Studies, Speech Communication.

Often, CSM’s largest group of graduates includes students majoring in business and technology. That’s probably because these workers are employed in nearly every industry. Your CSM business or technology degree prepares you to coordinate and direct the many support services that allow organizations to operate efficiently. CSM’s information technology programs prepare you to work in an IT area of your choice; perhaps as a systems analyst, a computer programmer, a support specialist, or in another computer-related area.
