Student hugging young childHow to Register for Early Childhood Education Co-op

  • Submit a Co-op Intake Form. You will be contacted by an advisor who will verify that you meet the prerequisites for this course. (See the course description for prerequisite information.) If you do not have a position in the Early Childhood field, you will be invited to meet with an advisor for job search assistance. It is your responsibility to find a work/volunteer site, and the advisor will assist you with your résumé and show you Job Connection and local Web sites that will help get you started.
  • When you have identified a site where you would like work or volunteer, submit the last three years’ Office of Child Care (OCC) inspection reports from the child care or preschool site. These reports can be submitted directly to the Faculty Coordinator or to the co-op advisor.
  • The Faculty Coordinator will review your Intake Form, résumé, and site inspection reports, and notify you of the outcome of her review.
  • If approved, you will be directed to contact the co-op advisor to make arrangements for registration. You will not be able to register until the above steps have been taken.

The above information should be submitted at least one month prior to the start of the semester in which you take the course (no later than July for fall semester and December for spring semester). Since it takes time to collect this information, getting started early is important.
