A course that teaches through REAL experiences.

General Information

About Cooperative Education

Cooperative Education, or co-op, is an academic course that allows you to get involved, on a paid or volunteer basis, in a real work environment that relates to your major.

Course Length

Each course is one semester long. The length of the course depends on the semester in which it is taken.

Pass/Fail Courses

Most Co-op courses are on a pass/fail grading system.

Your Project/Objectives

For some subject areas, each student will be asked to define a project or objectives for the course. For more about the specific requirements for your co-op, go to the Info for Specific Academic Areas page.

Registering

You cannot register for a cooperative education course until you have talked to an academic advisor (see below). Get more information about registration.
