Introductory Issues in Developmental Disabilities

Description:

Students learn to work cooperatively with people who have physical, mental, emotional, vocational, social, economic, and cultural disabilities. Students examine the structure and availability of human service delivery systems; compliance with and implementation of federal, state, and local laws are discussed. Other topics include the normalization principle, client rights, sexuality, and deinstitutionalization.
