Introduction to EMT Practice

Description:

This course provides an introduction to Emergency Medical Technician- Intermediate and -Paramedic practice. As one of two foundation courses, the following topics will be covered: the EMS system, EMT roles and responsibilities, infection control, principles of pharmacology, medication administration, practioner well-being, illness and injury prevention, ethicolegal issues, professionalism, Maryland EMT practice protocols, principles of pathophysiology, therapeutic communication, and human life-span development.
