Description:
Major works of world literature from antiquity to approximately 1700 C.E. are studied in terms of the cultures that produced them. Included may be ancient Egyptian poetry, The Book of Job, a Greek tragedy, the works of Confucius, The Bhagavid-Gita, portions of The New Testament, works from China's Middle Period, 1001 Nights, Dante's Inferno, early Japanese works, and a work from the European Renaissance.
