Description:
Prerequisite: Applicant must pass a reading and math test prior to registration. Preparation, administration, and charting of nonparenteral medications will be taught to geriatric nursing assistants (GNA) who work in long-term care facilities. Applicants must be certified by the Maryland Board of Nursing as: 1) geriatric nursing assistants and as 2) certified nursing assistants; 3) be currently employed by a long-term facility; and 4) have one year's work experience as a geriatric nursing assistant in a long-term care facility. Textbook required.
