Phlebotomy Technician

Description:

This course prepares individuals to collect, prepare, and transport blood samples using proper techniques and procedures. Class and lab topics include safety, basic anatomy and physiology, infection control, patient preparation, and legal and ethical considerations associated with venipuncture in hospital or out-patient settings. Observations in blood-drawn facilities acquaint students with different employment opportunities. This course is combined with credit course HTH-1280. Textbook required.
