Description:
Students learn about the principles, procedures and sources of error in hematology lab work. Also stressed is the theory of normal red blood cell production and maturation, along with the production of white blood cells and platelets. Normal cell function and blood disorders such as leukemia and anemias are discussed. Also included are methods used to detect normal and diseased blood states. MLT-1040L must be taken in the same semester. Passing grade in this course is C.
