Description:
Students receive an overview of the nursing profession. Topics include basic information on the current health care system and the evolution of nursing. Students are introduced to the importance of developing strong critical thinking skills as well as the foundational legal and ethical principles that guide nursing care. The components of the teaching/learning process and principles of communication are emphasized as key nursing interventions. This course does not guarantee admission to the nursing program. Students must complete the department admission process.
