Description:
This course prepares the fitness enthusiast for the American Council on Exercise (ACE) Group Fitness Instructor Examination. Content knowledge and practical experience will be provided to individuals who have the desire to teach safe and effective group fitness exercise classes. A variety of group fitness classes will be introduced such as step, yoga, circuit training, kickboxing, water exercise, cycling, and use of resistance equipment. Lectures will consist of basic anatomy, physiology and kinesiology, class development and organization (working with music developing and breaking down combinations, transitions between movements, and cueing), and the role of the group fitness professional.
