Who can apply
Application is open to new students enrolling in CSM, and students currently enrolled at CSM.
MTAP is ideal for students that are looking to save tuition costs by attending CSM first, students that want to stay close to southern Maryland now and transfer to UMCP later, or students that were initially not offered freshmen admission to UMCP due to test scores or grades.
How to apply
New students:
- Complete an application to CSM.
- Complete an MTAP application and submit it to your academic advisor.
Students currently enrolled at CSM:
- Complete an MTAP application and submit it to your academic advisor.
When to apply
The deadline to apply to MTAP depends upon the student's transfer plans.
Students may apply for fall or spring admission to UMCP, and are required to participate in MTAP for at least one semester before transfer.
Additionally, students planning to enroll at UMCP in the fall semester should apply to MTAP by the prior November 15th. Students planning to enroll at UMCP in the spring should apply to MTAP by the prior June 1st.

After submitting an application
Your application to MTAP will be received and processed by CSM and UMCP. Upon acceptance to the program, you will receive an MTAP acceptance notice by mail from UMCP.
