Maryland Transfer Advantage Program

A partnership of the University of Maryland College Park with the College of Southern Maryland.

MTAP Requirements

1. Do not enroll at any other institution of higher education after MTAP acceptance.
2. Complete an Associate of Arts, Associate of Arts in Teaching, or Associate of Science Degree at CSM with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA.
   
   -OR-
   
   Complete a General Studies Transfer Certificate at CSM with a minimum 3.0 GPA including:
   • At least five General Education courses.
   • Coursework that fulfills the UMCP Freshman English requirement. (Use ARTSYS to check equivalencies.)
   • A college-level mathematics course. (MTH-1100 or higher)

Special Note About Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Programs

An Associate of Applied Science alone does not meet the MTAP requirements, but a student may complete an A.A.S. and take the courses needed to complete a General Studies Transfer Certificate in order to meet the requirements.
