Description:
The Environmental Technology program provides students with the necessary technical and management background to be environmental technicians. The program prepares students through a combination of technical courses in environmental science and related areas and basic courses in English, mathematics, communications, and the sciences. Graduates of this program should expect to find entry-level employment as environmental analysts, field service technicians, geologist technicians, installation technicians, or remediation technicians.
Environmental technology graudates provide technical assistance to engineers and scientists by performing such tasks as sample collection, monitoring, instrument calibration, and data management. They are typically employed by environmental engineering consulting firms, industries, and government agencies.Environmental technicians need a strong science background, a basic knowledge of computers, and both written and oral communication skills. The maximum number of credits accepted in transfer from other institutions to this program is 47.
