Description:
Radiography is an allied health career speciality which focuses on imagery as a means of assisting the physician in making diagnosis of patient conditions. Radiographers produce images of the patient's body on film or computer screens. They utilize sophisticated equipment to view the body and may be required to use contrast agents to view organs that otherwise cannot be seen.Providing around-the-clock service to the patient as a valuable health care team member, the radiographer has flexible working hours. The graduate of the radiography program is eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) examination for certification and licensure in Maryland as a radiographer. This is a competitive admission program and has been designated as a Health Manpower Shortage program.
