Description:

Environmental planning involves the application of natural and social science disciplines to synthesize real world solutions and requires practitioners to utilize critical thinking and assessment methods. The Letter of Recognition in Environmental Planning curriculum is composed of a series of courses that provides a sound basis for an understanding of the fundamental environmental concerns, the general state of public policy and the technology that supports the planning process. Further, the courses provide students with a familiarity with the general principles and methods commonly employed in the planning process. The Letter of Recognition in Environmental Planning will be awarded to students completing a three-course sequence providing a background in hydrology, soils, and environmental planning. The maximum number of credits accepted in trans- fer from other institutions to this program is 7.
