Special Admissions Program

The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) Special Admissions Program is designed for students attending a secondary school or home-school program, or under 18 and have not yet graduated. Since 2000, more than 1,000 students have participated in this program, getting a jump start on their college education. 

By participating in Special Admissions Program students will:
- Save money
- Receive college credits that will transfer
- Get college experience

CSM is a 2-year college, accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), has developed partnerships that will allow you to transfer and complete your bachelor's degree in Southern Maryland.  For more information check out Bachelor Degree Opportunities.

The faculty and staff at CSM are committed to helping special admissions students reach their educational goals.

  Calvert County Complete 11th grade 75% Full-Time or Part-Time  
  Charles County Complete 11th grade 2.75 Full-Time or Part-Time  
  St. Mary's County Complete 10th grade 2.5 Full-Time or Part-Time  
Gifted/Talented Under 16 yrs     Complete 7th grade
Home School 16 or older     Still in home school program
Non-Graduate 16 or older     Completed a home school program without a diploma, or did not complete high school, or do not have a GED or External Diploma.
