WHERE ARE THEY NOW: Jimmy Parrott

November 8, 2007 - Former CSM men's soccer player Jimmy Parrott is currently a Physical Education teacher in Chesapeake, Va., as well as an active participant in Duathlon Competition.

Parrott played soccer for CSM in 1993 and 1994.  His freshman year he was part of the only CSM team to participate in the NJCAA National Tournament, where the Hawks finished 7th.

After leaving CSM, Parrott attended Frostburg State University.

Parrott has been competing in Duathlon competitions for a number of years, and recently competed in the World Duathlon Long Course Championships Oct. 21 in Richmond, Va., the first time the competition has been held in the United States.  Duathlon competition consists of a running leg, followed by a biking leg, and concludes with another running leg.

The world championships begun with a 15 kilometer run, followed by a 77 kilometer bike ride, and concluded with a 7.5 run through downtown Richmond.

Parrott was one of 450 athletes competing from 25 countries, and finished 3rd in his age group (30-34).  He was the third fastest U.S. athlete, and excelled on the hilly and technical bike course, finishing with the 5th best time overall.

Jimmy currently resides in Chesapeake, Va. with his wife and three children, ages five, three, and one.
