WHERE ARE THEY NOW: Jimmy
Parrott
November 8, 2007 - Former CSM men's
soccer player Jimmy Parrott is currently a Physical Education teacher in
Chesapeake, Va., as well as an active participant in Duathlon Competition.
Parrott played soccer for CSM in 1993 and
1994. His freshman year he was part of the only CSM team to
participate in the NJCAA National Tournament, where the Hawks finished 7th.
After leaving CSM, Parrott attended Frostburg
State University.
Parrott has been competing in Duathlon
competitions for a number of years, and recently competed in the World
Duathlon Long Course Championships Oct. 21 in Richmond, Va., the first time
the competition has been held in the United States. Duathlon
competition consists of a running leg, followed by a biking leg, and
concludes with another running leg.
The world championships begun with a 15
kilometer run, followed by a 77 kilometer bike ride, and concluded with a
7.5 run through downtown Richmond.
Parrott was one of 450 athletes competing
from 25 countries, and finished 3rd in his age group (30-34). He was
the third fastest U.S. athlete, and excelled on the hilly and technical bike
course, finishing with the 5th best time overall.
Jimmy currently resides in Chesapeake, Va.
with his wife and three children, ages five, three, and one. |
