Galeano hands CSM reins to Dyson

Hawks Continue to win in men's soccer, ranked 18th in country this week

The 18th-ranked menís soccer team in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I poll has made a change at the top.

After leading the resurrection of the College of Southern Maryland Hawks to a Maryland Junior College Conference and Region XX power for the last nine years, Tony Galeano stepped down as the programís head coach right before this season began.

Student Athletes Score Enviable, Professional Quality Turf

The College of Southern Marylandís soccer field is more than just a field of dreams for student athletes; it is the field of their dreams, too. Dedicated during an on-field ceremony Sept.16, the La Plata Campus soccer field is a professional-quality, state-of-the-art playing surface that is now considered among the top soccer fields in the conference.††††

††††ďWith the menís team ranked at18th in the nation with a 6-0 record, the Hawks may have their first opportunity in years to have home-field advantage during the playoffs,Ē said CSM Director of Student Life and Athletics Michelle Ruble, adding that in years past, the size and condition of the field did not meet NJCAA minimum requirements.

Looking Ahead: CSM Volleyball

The College of Southern Maryland volleyball team is gearing up for another exciting season, but with a new face at the top.

New head coach Pat Brewer brings his love of outdoor volleyball to the indoor floor.

Brewer and assistant coach Ron Swann enter their seventh year with the organization and Nila Stratka marks her sixth year with the Hawks.
