Jack Chesedine - Head Baseball Coach

Jack Chesedine

As a head coach, Jack has won 375 games.  His coaching career started back in 1965 with the CYO 17 and under St. Francis Xavier team.  During his tenure, the CYO team went 34-14, winning the league championship in 1966 and 67.

In 1968, Jack became the head coach at McNamara High School, where he compiled a 120-68 record in 12 years.  His McNamara team made the playoffs from 1976-1979.  Jack was named Coach of the Year in 1978.  From 1980-1994 Jack coached the Charles-St. Maryís menís baseball team.  As the head coach, Jack had a 205-102 record with 13 playoff appearances.  He won the regular season and league championship seven times.  Jack was named Manager of the Year in 1994, and he won the Sportsmanship Award in 1987.  He served as President of the organization for 10 years.

In 1995 Jack decided to return to high school baseball, and became an assistant coach at St. Maryís Ryken High School, where he remained until 2002.  In 2003 Jack became the head coach, where he served for the next three years.

His good friend Ed Glaeser called upon Jack and his baseball knowledge to come help him as an assistant varsity coach at Thomas Stone High school, where he remained until 2010.  Jack has also spent his summers with the Chaney American Legion baseball team, where they won league championships in 2005, 2007, and 2010. 

As a head high school coach Jack compiled a 136-115 record.  In 2007, Jack received the Service to Baseball Award from the Maryland State High School Baseball Association.

Jack has been married for 30 years to his wife Theresa, and they have five children and three grandchildren.  Jack currently resides in Hughesville, Md.
