Gene Bowles Baseball Diary

Journal 1

Hi my name’s Gene Bowles.  I graduated from Great Mills High School in 2004.  I play for the College of Southern Maryland baseball team.  I am an infielder and in the bullpen occasionally.  During this 2006 season I will be your guide with the Hawks baseball team.  I will give you the inside scope on what’s going on in the world of “Hawks Baseball”.

February 20, 2006

Our baseball team this year has already jelled as a unit and we are very anxious for the start of the ’06 season.  The first practices were all held indoors and consisted of loosing up our arms, pitchers throwing in the bullpen, taking groundballs, and taking batting practice in the cage.  Inside the gym we would run steps which are running around the entire gymnasium and we would also do sprints at the end of practice.

This year’s team has all the chemistry to go as far as winning the JUCO National Championship in my eyes.  The players on the team work hard in and out of practice and are ready to begin their 52 game journey to the top of the mountain.

The player’s to get CSM that elusive first ever Region XX title and first ever National Championship title and second state title are:

            #1-Jason Smith-IF,RHP
