HAWKS EXPERIENCE MAJOR PROBLEMS ON 18TH HOLE ON FIRST DAY OF NATIONAL TOURNAMENT

May 24, 2006 - Matt Wagner and Brian Beavan led the CSM Golfers in the first day of play at the NJCAA Golf Championship. The CSM team had difficulty with the 18th hole, adding a number of strokes to the Team Total at the Goose Pond Colony Golf Course in Scottsboro, Alabama. Matt bogeyed the 18th hole to shoot a 74 and Brian took a double bogey on the 18th hole to shoot a 77. Alan Mattingly shot an 83 and R.J. Persetic carded a 91 but struggled on the Par 3's. Josh Humphrey had his best round of the season going until he tripled the 18th hole to shoot a 92.

All of the players were disappointed with their scores; Coaches' Ned Spearbeck and Danny Williams stated our goal is for everyone to improve his score.
