CSM GOLF SHOOTS 320 ON FINAL DAY OF
TOURNAMENT
May 30, 2006 -
The CSM Golf team shot 320 on the final day
of the NJCAA Golf Championship on May 26, held at Goose Pond Country Club in
Scottsboro, Alabama. While higher then their score the day before
(315), it still represents the team's second best performance of the
tournament. As a team, the Hawks finished with 1281 (+129), in 17th
place overall. Darton College of Georgia was the overall winner,
shooting 1145 (-7).
CSM's Matt Wagner finished tied for 52nd place, shooting 300 (+12) for the
tournament. T.J. Redding from Kirkwood Iowa was the champion,
finishing with 277 (-11).
The entire Hawks team this year consisted of freshman, and Head Coach Danny
Williams is looking forward to having most of the team back next year to
defend their Regional Championship, with a chance to compete in back to back
National Tournaments.
