2007 GOLF PREVIEW
March 29, 2007 -
The 2007 College of Southern Maryland Golf
Team will defend their Maryland State JUCO and Region XX Championships this
spring. Matt Wagner and R.J. Persetic are the returning sophomores
from the undefeated 2006 season. Matt Wagner is the defending Region
XX Medalist; he defeated teammate Brian Beavan, who transferred to Towson
University, by six strokes. R.J. Persetic returns after playing his
best golf of the season in May 2006 at the National Championships in
Georgia, shooting 81 and 82 the last two days.
Rounding out this year's squad will be freshman Vinnie Hancock, Pat Hibben,
and Matt Gribble. All three freshman have the potential to shoot low
numbers to improve on the team scores from last year. Coaches Ned
Spearbeck and Danny Williams hope to repeat on last year's success.
