GOLF FINISHES REGULAR SEASON 4-3

The CSM Golf team finished the season with a
disappointing 4-3 record. Coaches Danny Williams and Ned Spearbeck
thought they had a better team then last year's squad that went undefeated
and won the 36 hole Region XX Championship by one stroke over Harford
Community College.
This year's scores were actually very close to last years, but the 2007
schedule had the team playing away from their home course, Hawthorne Country
Club, for all three losses, to Rockville, Anne Arundel, and Harford.
Those teams were all stronger then they were in 2006.
Last season CSM defeated Harford at Hawthorne by 18 strokes, but this season
Harford won by 16 strokes at their home course Swan Creek. All four of
Harford's players shot in the 70's in the victory over CSM.
CSM will be participating in the Region XX Championship, being held May 8
and 9 at Beaver Creek Country Club in Hagerstown.
