HAWKS FALL TO DUNDALK IN CLOSING SECONDS

7, 2009 -
Ricardo Laing hit two free throws with 13.3 seconds left, to
lift Dundalk (11-5, 3-3) to a 60-58 victory over the CSM men's basketball
team. The Hawks had a final chance to win or tie the game in the final
seconds, but Byron Morgan's three pointer was off the mark, and Chris
Brown's tip-in bounced off the rim as time expired.

BASEBALL SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED
January
6, 2009 - The College of Southern Maryland
baseball team will open the season on Tuesday, February 24 when they travel
to the Northern Neck of Virginia to take on Rappahannock. The team's
home opener will be on Feb. 26, when the Hawks will play ASA from Brooklyn,
NY in a 1:00 PM doubleheader. This year the team will play 18 home
games at
Regency Furniture Stadium in White Plains, Md., home of the Southern
Maryland Blue Crabs.

VOLLEYBALL'S CHANTAL HEBRON NAMED
ALL-AMERICAN
January
5, 2009 -
Chantal Hebron was named 2nd team All-American for her play
during the 2008 season. She finished the season in the top twenty
nationally in two categories; finishing 16th in the country in kills (3.50
per game), and 19th in hitting efficiency (36.7%).
Hebron was also selected first team All
MDJUCO, All Region XX, and to the Region XX All Tournament team. She
led the Hawks to a 66-21 record during her two years at CSM.

HAWKS SPLIT BASKETBALL DOUBLEHEADER AGAINST
PG

19, 2008 -
Rachel Eaby made the first shot of a one and one with 1.7
seconds left in the first game, to give the CSM women's basketball team a
57-56 win over Prince George's. Eaby missed the second shot and P.G.
tracked down the rebound, but the Owls weren't able to get off a shot before
time expired.
In the men's game, the Hawks rallied from 12
down in the second half to briefly take the lead, but the rally fell short
as the Owls pulled ahead at the end to escape with a 63-59 win.

CSM COACHES VS. CANCER
December 15, 2008 -
The CSM men and women's basketball teams
kick-off a month long fundraising event to benefit the Coaches vs. Cancer
Foundation, when the teams host Prince George's on Friday, Dec. 19.
The women's game begins at 5:00 PM, while the men tip-off at 7:00 PM.
There will be a DJ and music provided by Crow Entertainment, a half-time
performance by a Crow Entertainment recording artist, a raffle to win
tickets to sporting events, and much more.
