TODD FONG LEAVING POST AS HEAD MEN'S BASKETBALL COACH Monday, March 1 - After six years as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at the College of Southern Maryland, Todd Fong will not be returning to the bench next fall. "I appreciate all of Coach Fong's efforts over the years, but have decided to take the basketball program in a different direction" said CSM Athletic Director Michelle Ruble. "I wish Todd well in all of his future endeavors." Fong joined the CSM staff as an assistant under John Fernandes in 1993, and became the Head Coach in the 1998-99 season. Fong compiled an overall record of 69-94. His best season was 1999-2000 when the Hawks went 18-11, and Brian Griffen was selected 1st Team Academic All-American. A committee has been formed to search for a new coach. All interested candidates should contact Athletic Director Michelle Ruble at micheller@csmd.edu. |
