SHARP SHOOTING P.G. DOWNS HAWKS

December 6, 2004 - Prince George's hot shooting, especially from the three point arch, led P.G. to a 96-63 win over CSM in a non-conference men's basketball game.  The Owls hit eleven three's for the game, eight in the first half as they raced to a 52-22 halftime lead.

As hot as Prince George's shooting was, CSM was just as cold, and combined with several turnovers on offense, the Hawks fell behind early.  After Prince George's (4-1) scored the first seven points of the game, CSM (2-8, 0-3) battled back, and trailed by only twelve at 29-17 with 8:30 left in the first half.  However the Owls outscored the Hawks 23-5 to end the half.

Charlie Smallwood had 15 pts. (3-3pointers), Jahmar Claxton had 14 pts., Tim Contee 12 pts., and Randy Lester 11 pts. to lead a balanced P.G. attack.

Joe Flegler led all scorers with 23 pts., and he dished out several assists to pace CSM.  Cardell Dudley added 10 pts., and Javon Sparrow had 9 pts. for the Hawks.

The Hawks begin a three game road trip at Baltimore on Wednesday, and return home next Wednesday, Dec. 15 to play Hagerstown at 7:00 PM.  The game will be proceeded by a women's game against Louisburg at 4:30 PM.
