February 15, 2006 -
The CSM men's basketball team won their final
home game of the season, defeating Rockville 97-86 on "Sophomore Night".

scoring heated up, as the Hawks jumped to a 9-4 lead, but David Jones'
basket tied the game for the Knights at 12-12 with 11:50 left in the half.
That was as close as Rockville (11-12, 6-8) would come the rest of the game,
as the Hawks moved to a 47-32 halftime lead. Anthony Stowe's basket
gave the Hawks their biggest lead of the game 58-34, with 15:35 left to
play.
Rockville battled back, cutting the lead to thirteen points, and then to
eleven points, but CSM (7-16, 5-9) had an answer to every Rockville rally.
The Hawks sealed the game from the free throw line, as Rockville was forced
to foul, and CSM scored eight of their final ten points from the charity
stripe.
CSM will end the season with a pair of road games, at Hagerstown on Friday
(7:00 PM) and at Takoma Park on Saturday (1:00 PM), before participating in
the MDJUCO Tournament the last week of February.
